PENANG, Aug 22 – Nearly 100 residents of Kampung Kastam Malay village today have peacefully assembled to protest the attempt to demolish their houses.
Those who live in this area for more than 70 years have been directed out of this area to pave the way for the Housing Project by the Ideal Capital Venture Developers without any compensation.
Malaysia Makkal Sakti Party President, Datuk Seri R.S. Thanenthiran with the Penang Kampung Kastam Committees, has lodged a police report at the IPD Patani Police Station on the issue with developer Ideal Capital Venture Sdn Bhd who wants to demolish the housing of Kampung Kastam, Gelugor, Penang without any notice.
According to Datuk Seri R.S. Thanenthiran, the act of demolishing the housing of Kampung Kastam Gelugor, Penang without any notice is a persecution of the people in Penang. They want to invade the land occupied more than 70 years by retiree and heritage of Kampung Kastam.
He said Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was part of the fate of the Malays in Penang and did not care much about the misery of the poor Malays in Kampung Kastam, Gelugor, Penang.
Accordingly, Datuk Seri R.S Thanenthiran informed that the Malaysian Makkal Sakti Party with the residents of Kampung Kastam would be willing to stop the demolition of Kampung Kastam, Gelugor, Penang.
